• During this time I devoted myself to my wife, kids and running a small wholefood shop. (Don't ask! I was a vegetarian and had some strange ideas about the world.)
• In 1993 I began to write children's books (I now have over 80 titles in print).
• I soon realised I loved the creative side of writing but I missed the excitement of being in a fast moving business.
• I therefore started to write TV scripts for children (I also wrote several for the BBC Natural History Unit, but that's another story.)
• In 1997 I joined a small, successful stop frame production company. I loved the 'hands on' experience of production, but soon got frustrated. Early in 1999 I decided the time had to look around for larger companies to work with.
